Health issues forced Mary to become unemployed from her longtime job.
Peace of Mind Housing financial assistance helped Mary to be able to stay in her home.
After years of working on a physically demanding job, medical issues forced Mary to leave her place of employment – a business she had worked at for more than 15 years.
She found a new job rather quickly, but a gap in timing between jobs left Mary one month behind on her rent. Through the CROSS Peace of Mind Housing financial assistance program, Mary was able keep current on her rent and remain in her home during her gap in employment.
During the last fiscal year, 323 households received housing assistance during a financial hardship – allowing families to remain in their home.
The Peace of Mind Housing Fund is made possible through individual donations as well as support from local businesses such as First Class Mortgage.
Individuals and families seeking assistance are encouraged to visit CROSS to meet with a Family Advocate for more information.
