From the beginning of Mobile Hope, Dayton’s food distribution, we have witnessed time and time again, neighbors meeting neighbors. What a beautiful testimony to relationship building when you are able to see neighbors planning to meet again at the next distribution. We would have thought that everyone would know each other because of the tight housing structures. But in reality, the scenario is quite different. One example: a frail, elderly woman and I were talking when she squinted at a big, burly guy and said, ‘I think he might be my neighbor.’ She has lived at the park from the very beginning. I took her by the arm and said, ‘Let’s go meet him.’ They spent well over 45 minutes visiting and connecting. Thank you, CROSS, for partnering with Mobile Hope-Dayton.
