Every Thursday morning, before most people have even brewed their coffee, Bev Christian is already hard at work at CROSS Services. From 6:30 to 9:00 a.m., you can find her in our bakery aisle—removing out-of-date items, restocking fresh baked goods, tidying the shelves, and doing it all with a cheerful spirit that brightens the entire food shelf.
Bev has been a dedicated weekly volunteer since March 5, 2020—just days before the world shut down for the COVID-19 pandemic. But Bev showed up. And she’s kept showing up, week after week, ever since.
This March, we had the honor of joining her 90th birthday celebration at St. Joseph the Worker in Maple Grove, where more than 125 of her closest friends and family gathered to celebrate her life, her faith, and her ongoing commitment to serving others.
Bev’s work ethic and positive attitude are an inspiration. Her dedication proves that every stage of life can be filled with purpose and community—and that there’s always a place to make a difference.
Thank you, Bev, for being such a shining example of love in action. You truly embody the spirit of CROSS Services and remind us that “You Matter Here” isn’t just a tagline—it’s a way of life.
