Our Vision

History of CROSS
CROSS Services was founded in 1977 by a dedicated group of local church leaders as a nonprofit social service agency aimed at addressing the basic needs of residents in Northwestern Hennepin County. Originally incorporated to provide food and clothing to low-income families, CROSS has evolved over the decades.
In 2004, the organization relocated from a small warehouse in Osseo to a newly constructed 12,000 sq. ft. facility in Rogers, reflecting its commitment to meet the growing demands for assistance. As the number of individuals seeking help increased, CROSS recognized the importance of tackling the underlying issues that led families into unexpected and challenging circumstances. This understanding led to the introduction of family advocate staff in 2013, ensuring that every family receives personalized support to help break the cycle.
Since it’s founding, CROSS Services honors its roots in faith and remains steadfast in its mission, driven by values of compassion, hope, service to others, and stewardship. CROSS Services provide a comprehensive range of services, including a healthy-options food shelf, financial assistance, referral services, a thrift shop, and children’s programs. Serving more than 14,000 people annually, CROSS Services empowers families in transition and crisis, enabling them to achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

Family Advocates
Equally important, our services include one-on-one support with individuals and families. Family Advocates connect guests to various resources, referrals and other agencies, depending on need. CROSS Services advocates work to reduce the impact of poverty by working side-by-side with families during times of need. They are skilled in listening, encouraging families from a strength perspective and advocating on their behalf. We build relationships that generate life changes!
Thank you to all who help!
